Love Is Ageless – and Worth a Digital Camera
By Lisa Olson

Six weeks and counting.  That’s when National Nursing Home week begins.  The official kick-off date is Sunday, May 11 (Mother’s Day) and continues through the 17th.

AHCA has compiled a planning guide that will help you celebrate the week, with activities and ideas based on the theme, LOVE IS AGELESS.  A few of their ideas have been shared in previous articles, and here’s one more.

This activity plays hide and seek with a heart.  Here are the rules.  Create teams of staff and residents.  Then make a heart and hide it in your facility.  Every time the heart is found, the team of the finder gets a point.  Then the finder hides it again.  At the end of the week, add up the points from each team and give the team with the most “found love” an award.

For more ideas, go to www.nnhw.org.  And remember, Care Providers of Minnesota staff really like to be invited to your events, so let us know of your celebrations.  We cannot attend all events, but we will get to as many as our schedules allow.  Please send notice of your events to Lisa Olson at the Association office.

And what’s this about a digital camera?  Take a photo that encompasses the theme for this year and send it to AHCA.  The winner will receive a digital camera.  Check out www.nnhw.org for contest rules and information.
