DEED Goes on Roadshow
By Patti Cullen, CAE

The Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) is going on the road again this summer, and we’re hoping you will take time out of your busy schedules to attend the local meetings and to talk about our messages of the economic contributions of older adult services to the local economy.

DEED Commissioner Dan McElroy and other agency leaders are planning to visit 10 cities over a five-week span starting at the end of July.  Their theme is “Advancing Economic Prosperity:  Partnering to Shape our Future.”  They will be discussing the economy, how the recent legislative session affects workforce and economic development, and how federal stimulus dollars will be spent in Minnesota.  They are also planning breakout sessions and a resource fair so you can talk to other state and federal partners about what matters to you.

The initial schedule is below – we will be sending you more information in the coming weeks as we receive more details, or you can check back with DEED in the next few weeks at www.deed.state.mn.us.
