Are You Ready for Some Action? (Innovation and Action, That Is)
By Cyndi Spencer

Innovation and Action logoWe are nearly ready for you!  The 2010 Innovation and Action Convention website is being updated to include information about all of this year’s 93 breakout sessions (including MDS 3.0 sessions every day), keynote sessions, expo hours, an ever-expanding list of exhibitors, information on making your hotel reservations, and a host of other information.  All of this will be ready for you by noon on Friday, September 17.  Most important – besides being able to “read all about it” – REGISTRATION WILL BE OPEN BY NOON ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 17 AS WELL!

Registration books are at the printer and will be in the mail next week, and you will soon be able to download a copy of the book online.  However, you will be able to view all of the session information online and register for this year’s Convention by noon on Friday, September 17 from our website.  Some important things to note about registering for the 2010 Convention:

1. Registering your facility/housing setting is only the first step in the registration process.  Prior to your registration being complete, you must complete the attendee spreadsheet and session preselections.  This information is an essential step in the registration process, as it helps us plan for handouts and room assignments, as well as food and beverage needs, which are a substantial part of the Convention budget.  While your staffing schedules may not be set yet, having staff select sessions they will most likely attend on their preferred day(s) of attendance is necessary for us to plan efficiently.

2. We are again pleased to be able to offer complimentary tickets for the Celebration of Caring Dinner to our facility and housing members.  Facility members can request up to two complimentary tickets; housing members may request one.  Complimentary tickets MUST be requested by October 22; any remaining tickets after October 22 will be available for sale at the ticket price of $60.  (A gentle reminder as you make your plans to attend this special dinner:  although tickets may be complimentary to you, we are obligated to the hotel for the ticket price of $60 per person, and we reserve seating for you based on your ticket request.  You can help us manage our costs, as well as help us ensure that everyone who wants to attend this sold-out event is able to do so, by only requesting tickets you will be able to use.)

3. HOTEL RESERVATIONS  Make your hotel reservations soon and avoid any disappointments!  The room block lifts October 24, or when the block fills.  Room rates in 2010 are $134 single/$144 double.

Watch for more information and highlights every week until the 2010 Innovation and Action Convention & Exposition.  We have so much more to share!  For more information, contact Director of Marketing & Events Cyndi Spencer at 952-851-2490 or cspencer@careproviders.org.
