Save the Date Notice for December 4 Caregiver Conference
By Patti Cullen, CAE Please save the date for the next free “Caring for a Person with Memory Loss” conference, on Saturday, December 4th, 2010, from 8AM to 4:30PM in Mayo Memorial Building at the University of Minnesota! Please visit the conference portal for updated conference details, speaker information, driving directions and parking info, and agenda! Some benefits of attendance include: 1) this conference is free to attendees who do not wish to receive CEU credits; 2) free food and refreshments will be provided, courtesy of Freedom Pointe Minnetonka; 3) free copies of conference presentations will be provided, courtesy of Golden LivingCenter; and 4) they are also exploring the possibility of providing on-site care respite for families with the help of the Minnesota Adult Day Service Association! There is a streamlined conference registration procedure to make it easier for you to register: 1. If you are a family member, friend, person with memory concern, or a professional who does not want CEUs/contact hours, please register for the conference by clicking on the following link (or cutting and pasting into your internet browser): http://tinyurl.com/CPWMLregistration. Please make sure to fill out a new form for each person to be registered for the conference. 2. If you are a professional and would like to receive accredited contact hours (7.8 contact hours from the Minnesota Board of Nursing), please go to http://register.cce.umn.edu/Course.pl?sect_key=184856. Due to the costs of organizing this conference, we are now charging $50 for 7.8 contact hours. Please visit the CEU registration web site to both register for the conference and purchase contact hours. As Dr. Gaugler's research program continues to grow, he would like to ask you to take a few minutes and consider being a part of the University of Minnesota Caregiver Registry. Becoming part of the registry does not enroll you in any study, but it provides Dr. Gaugler with permission to contact you in the future about any upcoming opportunities to participate in his research as well other basic information. Filling out the University of Minnesota Caregiver Registry form should not take more than 5 minutes: a. If you are a family member or friend who knows someone with memory loss or is helping them, please fill out the University of Minnesota Caregiver Registry-Family form here: https://umsurvey.umn.edu/index.php?sid=97146&lang=um. b. If you are a professional who cares for persons with memory loss or their families, please fill out the University of Minnesota Caregiver Registry-Professional form here: https://umsurvey.umn.edu/index.php?sid=36229&lang=um. More conference details will continue to be provided in the upcoming weeks, but please make sure to check the conference portal. Patti Cullen, CAE |
