First, know that I have very much appreciated the personal contact and leadership Bruce Yarwood has demonstrated the past few years at the tumultuous helm of the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL).  He took over the role of President and CEO at a very difficult time in the history of AHCA/NCAL and has turned the ship around.

I knew that I could call and/or email Bruce at any time with concerns over a national issue and get a response immediately—he understood customer service, and he understood the challenges facing us as State Executives.

I personally appreciated his support and friendship during the past three years as your State Executive.

Under the guise of “make new friends but keep the old,” this month at the AHCA convention and annual meetings, we had the opportunity to both thank Bruce for his years of service, and to meet the new President/CEO and learn a bit about his vision.  I had the opportunity to meet with Kansas Governor Mark Parkinson, the incoming President & CEO of AHCA/NCAL, who will be succeeding Bruce Yarwood at the end of the year.
