Did We Tell You About These Convention Activities?
By Cyndi Spencer

There are a whole lot of really exciting events and activities happening at the 2010 Convention & Exposition November 15 – 17 that we’ve barely begun to tell you about.  Did we mention these:

MDS 3.0 We've got you coveredThe MDS 3.0 Ask the Experts Answers Bar is your chance to bring your MDS 3.0 questions to a team of experts who will be available all three days of the Convention to meet with you one-on-one.  We are delighted to have the following MDS 3.0 experts staffing this resource room:

Cindy Fronning, RNC, CDONA, RAC-MT, Mission Healthcare LLC
Amanda Johnson, RN, NHA, Clinical Consultant, Tealwood Care Centers, Inc.

This resource will be located in the Grant Room on the first floor, near the Convention registration desk.  It will be staffed Monday, November 15. noon – 2 p.m.; Tuesday, November 16, noon – 2 p.m.; and Wednesday, November 17, 8:30 – 10 a.m.  Experts will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, so have your questions ready and take advantage of the wealth of knowledge and experience we are delighted to bring to you.  Care Providers of Minnesota Vice President of Member Services Doug Beardsley will facilitate the MDS 3.0 Ask the Experts Answers Bar and also will be available to answer questions.

We are equally thrilled that Silverchair Learning Systems is sponsoring an E-Learning Lab again this year.  They’ll be rolling out their new About Series, offering four online courses, each worth 1.5 credit hours and appropriate for administrators as well as nurses.  The courses are:

Silverchair Learning Systems logoAbout COPD
About Diabetes
About Stroke
About Renal Disease

The E-Learning Lab will be located in the St. Croix Room on the 2nd floor, just to the right of the escalators.  Stations are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you are looking for CEUs or just want to learn more about Silverchair’s online learning system, plan to stop by.  The E-Learning Lab will be open Tuesday, November 16 from 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and Wednesday, November 17 from 7:30 – 11:30 a.m.

And, finally, just for fun, we’ll be playing Expo Hall Bingo again this year.  Get your Bingo card signed as you go through the Expo Hall, drop your completed card off in the prize bin at the Care Providers of Minnesota Pavilion, and you might be the lucky winner of $200!  The winning name will be drawn on Tuesday, November 16 at 3:30 p.m. in the Expo Hall.  You must be present in the Expo Hall when your name is called to win.

Have you registered yet?  The Convention is just over a week away and we’re hoping you plan to join us.  Registration is easy:  Just click HERE to start the process.
