CEO Blog: Convention Post-Mortem Commentary
By Patti Cullen, CAE It was so great to see so many members at convention this year, especially since we had a nearly record number of educational programs to choose from. We often say that the convention is a great value because a large number of your staff can get CEU hours there, and this year certainly reflected that. We received many, many positive comments about the educational programs and thank goodness we have so many talented, knowledgeable people willing to share their wisdom for no fee to us! I do know that the initial keynote speaker, Steven Shields, raised some controversy—talking about person directed care in a very compassionate (and some would say biased) manner. The reaction of either you loved him or hated him was not unexpected; rather, it is a consistent reaction whenever he speaks. What did you think about the Convention this year? What parts of it worked for you? Were there areas where you think we can do a better job next year? While these ideas are fresh in your mind, please click here to read the rest of the CEO blog, and email me or post a comment. I want to know what YOU think about our 2010 Convention as we plan for 2011! Patti Cullen, CAE |
