REMINDER! DHS Holding PACE Listening Session on January 13, 2011—Registration Required
By Larry Johnson As you know, in May the Long-Term Care Imperative legislation to provide funding for actuarial studies and administrative start-up costs for PACE (Program for All Inclusive Care for the Elderly) was signed into law. PACE, a federal program managed by CMS, offers older adult service providers the opportunity to put into practice the cost effective community-based supports to bring savings to the state. In order to develop the PACE program at the state level, the Department of Human Services has announced a listening session to be held in February to generate feedback and ideas from interested stakeholders. Information on this session is found below. The Aging and Adult Services and Health Care Management Divisions of the Minnesota of Department of Human Services will hold a listening session on the development of the Program for All-Inclusive Care of the Elderly (PACE) in Minnesota on Thursday, January 13, 2011, from 10:00 am to noon. This listening session will be held via video conference. The purpose of this listening session is to broadly communicate information specific to the development of the Program for All-Inclusive Care of the Elderly (PACE) in Minnesota. Session presenters will include Shawn Bloom, CEO, National PACE Association, and from the Minnesota Department of Human Services Pam Parker, Director, Health Care Operations, and Rolf Hage, Director, Resource Development, Aging and Adult Services. Individuals interested in participating in this listening session must register via the Aging and Adult Services Division Online Video Conference Registration at: http://agingtraining.dhs.state.mn.us/. Please register soon, as some locations are already listed as "FULL" on the drop-down registration menu. If your preferred location is now full, you must either choose another location to attend the videoconference, or choose the Class Materials Only option from the registration page at the link above.
