MDH Clarifies That Nursing Assistants Meet Class A and Class F Requirements for Home Health Aide Tasks
By Doug Beardsley

Pat Nelson from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) recently released a memo clarifying that Nursing Assistants with current registrations on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant registry meet documentation requirements for persons performing home care aide tasks and delegated nursing tasks for Class A and F Home Care Agencies.

While Class A and Class F providers can employ persons currently registered on the nursing assistant registry to perform home health aide or delegated nursing tasks, providers should be certain that these persons have been oriented to home care as required under MN Rule Part 4668.0075 prior to providing home care services.

MDH has communicated it will add this clarification to the “Frequently Asked Questions” section of their Class A and Class F websites.

In the meantime, click here to read their clarifying memo.
