NCAL Begins Second Year of Surveys under Advocating Excellence Program
By Phil Manz The National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) has launched two surveys under its Advocating Care Excellence program. The 2011 NCAL Performance Measures Survey is available only to NCAL members while the 2010 Employee Vacancy, Retention and Turnover (VRT) Survey is open to assisted living providers nationwide. Both surveys may be found on the home page of NCAL’s website at www.ncal.org (on the right side of the page under the section, “Be Heard”). The deadline for completion and submission of both surveys is March 31, 2011. If you happened to have sent in the results for the 2011 Performance Measure Surveys, please note that data was not captured between January 11 and January 21. NCAL began its Performance Measurement Initiative in 2010 with the development of Tier I measures—those operational elements that contribute to the quality of life of residents in our assisted living communities. The NCAL Quality Committee will continue its work in 2011 on the Tier II performance measures—those areas that are critical to high levels of quality care. Those Tier II areas will be included in the 2012 Performance Measures Survey. In order to acquire meaningful results for benchmarking, it is imperative that NCAL has the highest response rate possible from each state. All information submitted for both the 2010 Employee Vacancy, Retention and Turnover Survey and 2011 Performance Measures Survey is confidential and will appear only in aggregate form, including by state. If you have questions about the surveys, please contact Shelley Sabo at ssabo@ncal.org or 202-898-2848. Phil Manz |
