June 1 Program Focuses on Palliative Care

Save the Date for the Center on Aging 2011 Summer Institute: “Understanding Palliative Care Across Settings.”

This year’s institute will provide an active, participatory learning experience to help professionals improve their understanding of the many issues surrounding palliative care. Planned Sessions include:

  • Keynote address
  • Case study and special interest break outs
  • Palliative care across settings
  • Break outs – who is doing what across Minnesota on various palliative care projects.

Keynote speaker for the event is:
J. Andrew Billings, MD
Harvard Medical School
Center for Palliative Care
Dr. Billings is the Director of Palliative Care Service at Massachusetts General Hospital, an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and co-director of the Harvard Medical School Center for Palliative Care. His current research and teaching interests focus on palliative and end-of-life care.
