A Whole Lotta Information on Elderly Waiver and Nursing Facility Budget Proposals Now Available
By Todd Bergstrom

Now that there is more clarity on the various Governor, Senate, and House budget-cutting proposals, Care Providers of Minnesota is able to better outline the specific proposals, and fill-in some of the detail.

First, on the Advocacy page of the Association website, the following two documents are now posted:

  • Detailed Side-by-Side of Governor, Senate, and House (March 28, 2011): This document provides detail on the proposals and how the Governor, Senate, and House are approaching each issue.
  • Budget Side-by-Side of Governor, Senate, and House (March 2011): This document provides analysis of the specific budget details in terms of actual dollars and percent of funding cut from nursing facilities and the elderly waiver program.

Second, nursing facility and housing members will be receiving a letter from the Long-Term Care Imperative with an enclosure regarding the current standing of long-term care under the current budget proposals. Specifically:

  • Nursing facilities will receive a facility-specific analysis of the Governor, Senate, and House proposals.
  • Housing members will receive a detailed outline of what is being proposed by the Governor, Senate, and House.

Please contact Todd Bergstrom at the Association if you have any questions.
