In addition to the 16 awards available through Care Providers of Minnesota’s Award Program, members can directly apply for national recognition through AHCA/NCAL’s award program.

Housing members can directly apply for four awards, offered directly from NCAL (National Center for Assisted Living). Find their program materials on NCAL’s website. NCAL offers the following awards, all with the due date of Monday, May 23, 2011.

• NCAL Administrator of the Year Award
• NCAL Assisted Living Nurse of the Year Award
• National Assisted Living Week® Programming Award
• Noble Caregiver in Assisted Living Award

Nursing facility members can directly apply for the DD Hero Award, which is presented to a volunteer, family member, or member of the larger community who has touched the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. Applications are due at AHCA by Monday, May 23, 2011.

Members can also apply for the Not-For-Profit Facility of the Year. Nominations can either be for your facility’s resident care services/programs OR your community benefit program. This application is due at AHCA by June 6, 2011.
