Emergency Water Shortage Guide
By Doug Beardsley

The American Water Works Association, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Department of Health and Human Services recently released a guide to plan for water supply shortages that may be useful to long-term care facilities, including assisted living, and hospitals.

Water supply can be interrupted by a number of incidents including floods, tornados, and accidental rupture of a large water distribution pipe during construction. Given the number of floods and tornados we have been experiencing over the last few years, the question is not if the water supply will ever be interrupted, but rather when and for how long. Thus, the tool is timely and useful. Download the guide here.
