Forever Proud: September 11–17
By Lisa Foss Olson

Planning events and celebrations for National Assisted Living Week is even easier with the National Center for Assisted Living’s (NCAL) annual planning and product guide. This 16-page booklet is full of terrific ideas to help you celebrate this very important week, like “This is Your Life,” which is based on the classic TV show and is a great way for residents to get to know something about each other. It's described on page six of the guide.

This year’s theme, Forever Proud, honors the ten-year anniversary of the tragic events that changed the way we live. It reflects the rallying of neighbors, communities, and citizens who came together to help each other, and who continue to do so. The theme reflects the pride in a life well-lived: of a good job, family, and community ties. NCAL has done a great job in wrapping all these together in events that engage residents, their families, and staff.

National Assisted Living Week begins on Sunday, September 11. If you are planning special events for this week, please let us know. We would like to highlight them on our Facebook page so others can enjoy (and maybe get inspired)! And as always, if you extend an invitation to Care Providers of Minnesota, we will do our best to attend your event.

For questions or comments — or to let us know of your event — please contact Lisa Foss Olson at the Association.
