Webinar on New MDS 3.0 Changes and Strategies Effective October 1 Scheduled for September 7

On October 1, 2011, new MDS 3.0 policies regarding therapy go into effect. How will these changes affect you, your MDS coordinators, therapy department, and Medicare revenue?

This webinar will outline the changes to the RAI process including scheduling, new and revised assessments, therapy delivery methods, and changes to payments. The presenters will also provide strategic responses related to the changes going into effect on October 1, 2011.

Audience: SNF administrators, DNS, RAI coordinators, therapy providers (PTs, OTs, SLPs), and business office managers

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Identify major changes in the 2012 SNF PPS final rule and potential impact to your reimbursement
  • Identify changes to the assessment windows and RAI process
  • Identify changes to assessments including new and revised OMRAs

Presenters:
Amanda Johnson, Clinical Consultant, Tealwood Care Centers
Ms. Johnson is an RN and a licensed nursing home adminstrator. She has developed corporate skilled nursing, housing and home care policies and procedures; as well as working with regulatory compliance, corporate compliance, and multiple aspects of quality improvement. Other responsibilities included project manager for the implementation of multi-facility clinical software, facility reimbursement, and RAI process improvement.

Lisa Zeis, MSCCC-SLP, director of rehabilitation and clinical support, The Waters Senior Living
Ms. Zeis is a licensed speech-language pathologist with experience in rehabilitation, specializing in geriatric care settings. Her experiences include development of rehab programs, education, implementation, and integration of company-wide quality improvement programs.
