September 23 DHS Webinar on Overview of 2011 Legislative Changes for Continuing Care
By Phil Manz The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) will conduct a webinar summarizing the continuing care (nursing homes, housing with services, home care, foster care and others) provisions in the 2011 special session health and human services legislation. This webinar will be held on Friday, September 23 from 2 to 4 p.m. Featured presenters are Loren Colman, assistant commissioner; Alex Bartolic, director of disability services; and Jean Wood, director of aging and adult services; with other division directors presenting as well. The goal of the webinar is to help participants understand the content of each provision, understand how each provision works and learn any implementation information that is available. To register for the webinar, go to http://registrations.dhs.state.mn.us/, and under “Continuing Care – Disability Services,” click on Events. Then click on Next-Register. You cannot receive handouts from the registration page; they will be available here one week before the webinar. You can read the flyer announcing the webinar here. Once you register, you will get an “online video conference registration" email with a confirmation number. A reminder email with web link and phone number for the audio portion of the webinar will be sent the day before webinar. (The email will be from a person's name. You will be hearing from this person frequently, as I received morning and afternoon reminders the day before a webinar earlier this week, and one final reminder about one hour before the webinar began.) So, instead of us seeing each other on a video screen in a couple of weeks, you can listen for the voices of your favorite Care Providers of Minnesota members or staff as we ask questions during the webinar.
