Leading4Life Applications Now Being Accepted
By Cheryl Smith

Fall is in the air. Do the crisp air and early sunsets get you thinking about professional development — or just new folders and pens? (Do kids even use them anymore?)

Care Providers of Minnesota’s Foundation initiative, “Leadership Fellowship: Leading4Life” is planning for its fourth year, and we invite you to consider yourself — or a colleague — as a candidate for this exciting program.

The fellowship program builds leadership strengths by engaging practicing professionals in a coordinated curriculum with an array of practical and experiential learning experiences, including:

  • Monthly in-person collaborative learning experiences
  • Mentorship experience
  • Group discussions
  • Individually-tailored quarterly enrichment

Here are a few comments about the Leading4Life (L4L) Leadership fellowship from graduating class members:

This has been a brilliant opportunity to step out of the day-to-day scene and take time to really focus and collaborate on being better leaders. The group is very interactive and I have personally been able to take away something very positive after each meeting.

It has been even more enriching than I had imagined. Chad has created a group dynamic where we really have personally invested in the process and are sharing and trusting in open ways.

Each month I brought back information I had learned and shared with the other senior leaders in our center. It was a great way for all of us to benefit from my participating in the class.

The information provided by L4L and by my classmates was extremely valuable in helping me create new and innovative ways to empower our staff.

The introspective nature of the beginning courses really helped me look at myself as a leader and what within myself is driving my leadership abilities. Also, looking inside myself to understand the barriers that are present which may prevent me from being a great leader.

Applications are due by October 3, 2011.
