Email Us Your Experiences with Mandatory Long-Term Care Options Counseling
By Phil Manz Care Providers of Minnesota has created an email address for members to use to send us their stories and experiences with mandatory long-term care options counseling and long-term care consultation for prospective residents of housing with services (HWS). As you know, as of October 1, 2011 prospective housing with services and assisted living tenants are required to call the state’s Senior LinkAge Line® to receive “long-term care options counseling” and obtain a verification number prior to signing a lease. In order to collect feedback and understand how this new law is working, Care Providers of Minnesota is asking members to send us their views on how the implementation is proceeding. We are also gathering feedback at the regional membership meetings from October 11 through October 21. All responses will be kept in strict confidence by Care Providers of Minnesota. Information will be disclosed in a manner that separates the details from the names of specific companies or facilities. Information we are looking for includes:
Please use the following email address to send us your experiences with the new law: mandatoryltcc@careproviders.org. You can also go to the News section of the Care Providers of Minnesota website and click on Email Your Experiences with Mandatory Long-Term Care Options Counseling. Care Providers of Minnesota will be meeting with the Department of Human Services (DHS) to understand the data and measures on the new law that DHS will be developing and distributing. If you have an issue that needs immediate attention, please contact Phil Manz at pmanz@careproviders.org or 952-851-2484. Phil Manz |
