By Todd Bergstrom

The Minnesota Case Review program will hold a conference call on November 29, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (CST). This call will provide information on the implementation of RUG-IV for Minnesota case mix payment for Medicaid-certified nursing homes, effective January 1, 2012. The target audience is administrators, directors of nursing, MDS coordinators, and billing office personnel.

Each provider and organization is limited to one (1) phone line. Registration for the teleconference is required in order for a facility/organization to participate.

This is a facility and organization registration. So please do NOT register each person who will be listening to the call. Registration closes at midnight on Friday, November 18, 2011.

To register for a call go to http://www.health.state.mn.us/registration/nocharge/.

Background
During the 2009 legislative session, a provision was passed that requires the Department of Human Services (DHS) and the MN Department of Health (MDH) to establish procedures for the transition from the resource utilization group (RUG) system, version III to IV when determining classifications for nursing facility residents for rate setting purposes beginning January 1, 2012.

Please contact Todd Bergstrom at the Association office if you have any questions.
