RN Gerontological Certification Coming Through Care Providers of Minnesota and AHCA
By Doug Beardsley The American Health Care Association (AHCA) is hosting a webinar on November 18, entitled: Gero Prep’s triple win: The endless dividends of training your RNs to become board-certified gerontological nurses. Gero Prep is a proven online learning program that prepares your RNs to pass the Certification Exam in Gerontological Nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Care Providers of Minnesota will be rolling out the AHCA-sponsored Gero Prep program to our members in December. Gero Prep answers exploding demand as huge waves of baby boomers retire yearly through 2029. It meets urgent unmet needs: Two-thirds of all U.S. RNs have NO geriatric training and just 1% have earned gerontological certification. It delivers triple-win benefits: 1) for your nurses 2) for your residents and their families and 3) for facility owners and administrators. The webinar scheduled for November 18 will be archived and made available to our members with the rollout of the Care Providers of Minnesota Gero Prep program. Go to http://webinars.ahcancal.org/session.php?id=7922 if you want to register for the live webinar to be presented at 1:00 p.m. central time on November 18. Watch for our announcement in December about this great RN training opportunity, including how to enroll your RNs through Care Providers of Minnesota. Doug Beardsley |
