Join a Committee and Make a Difference!
By Nancy McCoy As the end of the year quickly approaches, we are in high gear recruiting interested members to join committees and affiliated boards for 2012. Many of our committees will be meeting in early January, so sign up now! If you have not participated on a committee before, now is the perfect time to join in and make new friends. If you did participate on a committee last year, you have already been contacted to be reappointed to the same committee(s) in 2012. Members who participate in Association committees express what a valuable experience this is for them. The opportunity to network with peers and connect with others in our community is important to the long-term care industry. In 2012, all of our traditional committees, including the Legislative Forum, Housing & Community-Based Services Cabinet, Regulatory Forum, Education Committee, Convention & Events Committee, Technology Committee and the Payment Committee are returning, as well as the Quality Council, Health Care Reform Task Force (formally the Sub-Committee on Health Care Reform) and the Veterans Task Force. All of the committees are committed to being on the forefront of the issues we are facing every day in long-term care. Learn more about our committee structure and see the committee organizational chart that lists all the committees and affiliated boards here. Read a description of the charges to these committees/boards here. If you served on a committee in 2011 and haven’t already done so, just email (nmccoy@careproviders.org) or call Nancy McCoy (952-851-2481) so you can easily sign up for 2012. However, if you would like to join a different committee or if you are new to the committee process, print out the committee interest form here, and email or fax it back to Nancy at the Association. Note that if you sign up more than one person from your facility, housing establishment, or corporation, each name requires a separate form. Our office will confirm your appointment by email after it has been processed. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Nancy McCoy at 952-851-2481 or nmccoy@careproviders.org. Thank you for making us a stronger Association with your involvement and participation! Nancy McCoy |
