ABN Medicare Part B (CMS-R-131) new version update

This is a reminder that the advance beneficiary notice (ABN) used for denial of Part B items or services in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) (CMS-R-131) has been updated. The new version is required to be used effective January 1, 2012. The only change to the CMS-R-131 is that CMS changed the version date at the bottom of the page (from 03/08 to 03/11 effective for use 01/12). The “standard” ABN notice for SNF Medicare Part A remains the same (SNFABN).
